21 and I'm a Winner
The most popular and the most math filled casino game has to be black jack or 21 as some call it. It does take skill to play this game and a knowledge of knowing when to hit and when to stay. Betting when playing this game start when you have no cards at all. It is an initial bet and you must bet to receive cards. It just makes sense.
One card is dealt up and one dealt down. Players do not have the
option of asking for or trading in cards. Essentially you must play
with the cards that you are dealt. The basic concept of 21 is that
you beat the dealer. You must, in the end, have a higher combined
hand than the dealer has. In 21, the aces can either be used as an
11 or a 1. Each player can keep "hitting" which means they are
dealt more cards. Once a player is satisfied or they "bust", which
means their cards are higher than 21, then they can stay and wait
and see if they have won. All the extra cards are dealt face up so
that only one card remains a mystery.
Most people say that hitting at 17 is not a good thing to do
because most of the time you will bust. Also receiving a face card
and ace means that you are a winner. When a player is dealt two of
the same cards they can spilt. With two's this may not be a great
idea, but it can work wonders with aces. When dealt 9, 10 or 11 you
can double down and double you chance to win with just one extra
card. 21 is all in the name and it is all about the cards.
